Pop-Inspired Home in a 19th-Century Apartment
A typical Milanese apartment, characterized by a long blind corridor, is renovated by converting its original limitations into strong points.
The apartment’s original cement tile floors now guide the color palette for the project.
The compact 2x2-meter kitchen, designed in a bold color-block style with a contrasting countertop, was repurposed from a adjoining room near the living room. They are now connected through a newly added interior window, inspired by the existing stained-glass windows.
The 11-meter long hallway became a statement feature on its own showcasing bold color choices and a custom-built bookshelf that hosts also a small desk.
The bathroom with its elongated perimeter, boasts a central walk-through shower which creating two distinct bathrooms—one accessible from the hallway and the other from the bedroom.
This room is well aligned with the rest of the home by taking up its colors and finishes.
