A Bohemian Home in a 17th-century Convent
This completely renovated apartment, overlooking Lake Como, combines elements of contemporary design and modern antiques shaped by years of living abroad.
The home is set within a former 17th-century convent, where the interior layout was entirely redesigned to enhance functionality.
The new floor plan places service areas towards the interior of the building, reserving the natural light for the bedrooms and the living area.
An Italian herringbone parquet was installed throughout, while the bathrooms feature zellige tiles in different colors and sizes – a nod to Moroccan influences.
The existing doors were meticulously restored, and decorative moldings were introduced to establish a dialogue between the building’s historic character and the modern renovation.
